COVID-19

A message to our Clients & Business Partners:

As you know, the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has had significant impact on both our personal and professional lives. Our number one priority here at KBST&M is to support the safety and well-being of the communities in which we live, work, and serve. In this time of uncertainty, we want to assure you that our focus is on both protecting our employees, clients, and business associates, and ensuring continuity of service.

We have initiated a plan to mitigate the potential effects of the situation, helping to ensure the well-being of our employees, their families, and our clients. KBST&M has assembled a team to closely monitor the COVID-19 public health emergency and we are following all recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO), U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and local authorities. Despite this being a unique and constantly changing situation, please know that KBST&M is committed to delivering the same high-quality service and extraordinary client experience that you have grown accustomed to.

As of last Monday, we began transition to a remote-work environment and the majority of our staff have already taken those steps. KBST&M has long been committed to a flexible workplace, and we have the technological, cultural and operational infrastructure for the organization to work virtually. We are fully structured to perform our jobs in a secure remote-work environment and to respond to emails and phone calls during regular business hours.  Our phone system allows us to have office calls transferred to personal cell phones, so please continue to call staff using our regular phone line. If you contact our operator, you can leave a message and she will return your call or re-direct it as needed as soon as your message is retrieved.  A staff person will be in the office daily to retrieve mail and faxes and to distribute to staff members accordingly.

In this very busy time of year, we also encourage our clients to take advantage of this flexibility to limit your need to travel or leave your home given the current environment.

The safety of our employees and those we serve is our top priority during these uncertain times.

In order to limit contact, we are restricting all visitors from entering our suite. We ask that if you are dropping off documents, please put them through the mail slot in the door. If your envelope will not fit, please place it in the box below and ring our doorbell and we will have someone retrieve it. (If you are here outside of our normal office hours of Mon – Fri 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., please do not leave confidential tax documents in the box; please put them through the slot or mail them).

If you normally schedule a in-person meetings with a KBST&M team member, and would like to discuss other methods of communication, such as audio or video conference alternatives, please reach out to discuss.

At this time, we strongly encourage electronic delivery of your information and remind you of your choices in getting documents to us. As always, the security of your data is paramount in this process, so please use one of our secure solutions to deliver your information.

Since the COVID-19 epidemic is still evolving and no one has a definite idea as to how long it will last, we have instituted these changes with the expectation that they will be in place for a two week period (ending Friday, April 3rd).  We will continue to monitor this regularly, make adjustments as necessary and keep you informed of our status.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to a member of our team. We are all in this situation together, and together we will successfully see it through.

Best regards and stay well,

Jeffrey N. Berman, President & Managing Partner
